Deux joueurs de foot légendaires, Luís Figo et Khalilou Fadiga, ont fondé le Zéro Palu Football Club en association avec le partenariat RBM pour sensibiliser le public au paludisme dans le monde entier.
25 avril 2023 : À l'occasion de la Journée mondiale de lutte contre le paludisme, deux légendes du football, Luís Figo et Khalilou Fadiga se sont associés au Partenariat RBM pour en finir avec paludisme pour annoncer une nouvelle initiative prometteuse : le Zéro Palu Football Club.
30 mars 2022 – Aujourd’hui, Ecobank Ouganda confirme son engagement à mettre un terme au paludisme en lançant Zéro Palu ! Les Entreprises S’engagent (ZMBLI) en Ouganda et en rejoignant le conseil Malaria-Free Uganda, par le biais d’une contribution de 120 000 dollars US.
L’objectif de l’initiative Zéro Palu ! Les Entreprises S’engagent est de mobiliser les entreprises du secteur privé dans la lutte contre le paludisme en Afrique afin de parvenir à un continent exempt de paludisme d’ici une génération.
10 March 2022, Yaoundé, Cameroon – Cameroon’s Minister of Public Health, H.E. Dr. Manaouda Malachie, announced today the launch of the country’s national Stop Malaria! campaign, becoming the 24th country in Africa to join the Zero Malaria Starts with Me movement.
7 February 2022 - Today, the RBM Partnership to End Malaria welcomes H.E. Ambassador Cessouma Minata Samate as Commissioner for Health, Humanitarian Affairs and Social Development (HHS) of the African Union (AU) Commission.
In this influential leadership role, H.E. Ambassador Samate will play a vital role in driving policy action and continental response towards the end of malaria in Africa by 2030. She takes on this role after H.E. Amira Elfadil, whose leadership was fundamental in mobilizing and empowering African communities to take ownership of the fight against malaria through the instrumental pan-African campaign, Zero Malaria Starts with Me. The campaign, co-led by the RBM Partnership to End Malaria, has launched in 23 AU Member States, with more on the cusp of joining.
Dr Abdourahmane Diallo, CEO of the RBM Partnership, says: “I welcome H.E. Ambassador Samate’s appointment, which comes at a crucial moment in our fight against malaria. The AU Commission has offered vital long-standing support to the RBM Partnership, and under H.E. Ambassador Samate’s leadership, we look forward to working together to protect hard-won gains against the disease and accelerate progress towards our goal of malaria elimination by 2030.”
Before she was elected Commissioner, H.E. Ambassador Samate was the Ambassador of Burkina Faso in Ethiopia, where she also held the position of Permanent Representative to the African Union until her election as AU Commissioner for Political Affairs in 2017.
14 December, Windhoek, Namibia – Namibia has become the 22nd country in Africa to launch the Zero Malaria Starts with Me campaign at an event attended by national political figures and representatives from regional and international partners
The Zero Malaria Starts with Me movement, endorsed by African Union leaders, calls on all individuals, families, communities, as well as political, business and religious leaders to make a personal commitment to step up the fight against the disease.
